Centre Soccer ā€“ Director of Coaching

Centre Soccer Association (CSA) is a nonprofit organization established in 1985 that provides developmental, recreational, and competitive soccer programs to the Centre region. CSA serves on average 830 players per year from ages 4 to 64 in various soccer programs. We are looking for a Director of Coaching to lead programming and oversee recreational and travel programs. The candidate must have a strong soccer background and technical expertise to lead paid and volunteer coaching staff. This DOC will report to Technical Director and CSA Board of Directors. The position is a half-time salaried contract position requiring a non-traditional work schedule of late afternoons, evenings, weekends, and some holidays. Local travel is required. The DOC will have regular exposure to outdoor activities and weather conditions.

The DOC will perform the following essential coaching and administrative duties that include, but are not limited to:


Coaching Duties

  • Design age-specific session plans for coaches/trainers to implement at practice in conjunction with the CSA Player Development Plan.
  • Organize coach clinics before and during the season for coaches (paid and volunteer).
  • Be the face for CSA programs at the fields for training sessions on weeknights and for games on the weekends; overseeing and answering any questions.
  • Recruit, direct, and manage CSA coaches (paid and volunteer) for the season.
  • Cover coaching responsibilities for teams as needed (e.g. if coach cannot be at a training session or match).
  • Provide training, support, and feedback to all coaches.

Administrative Duties

  • Manage day-to-day functions CSA programs.
  • Be direct point of contact for all coaches in CSA programs.
  • Host parent meetings and assist coaches in relaying CSA Mission and plan to parents.
  • Maintain positive relationships and open communication with coaches, parents, players, and community at large.
  • Resolve any player, parent, coach, referee conflicts for CSA programs.
  • Manage coaches (paid and volunteer) for CSA programs including, but not limited to, conducting coach meetings, and managing required paperwork.
  • Conduct the recruiting, hiring, training, managing, and evaluating of paid coaching staff for CSA programs in conjunction with the Technical Director.
  • Help manage game day operations such as equipment distribution, update of field status/weather line, field lining, etc. with Club Administrator.
  • Promote all CSA programs to club members and potential members.
  • Work with the Coaches, Club Administrator, Travel Coordinator and Technical Director to promote and communicate the transition of players from one age group to the next.
  • Assist in the promotion, management, and oversight of the competitive evaluations.
  • Assist in the implementation and execution of CSA Player Development Plan.
  • Lead evaluation sessions maintain a database of player information, and player placement.
  • Work with the Technical Director to find new ways to promote and advertise for the growth of the club.
  • Research new opportunities for developing new programs.
  • Create community events and community outreach projects.
  • Report monthly to the Board of Director meetings.
  • Report weekly to the Technical Director.
  • Build relationships with other clubs/associations to grow the game in the Mt. District.



  • Must hold a USSF ā€œDā€ License or higher or obtain the license within year of starting employment.
  • Must have experience in youth soccer.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc)
  • Strong Interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to prove eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Job Type: Part-time
  • Pay: From $6,000.00 per year
